Before you start looking around, I would like to tell you how I came
to accept the truth that GOD loves me and has a plan for my life.
I grew up as a religious person. I went to church every week. I prayed and read the Holy Bible daily.
I thought I was fine with GOD and everyone else was left to their own journey.
I focused on survival and relaxation. I did not care about others and focused on myself.
A cloud of depresion hung over me keeping me from the truth.
In early 2000, my brother asked me to be the godfather for my first nephew, which I gladly accepted.
This got me thinking about what I wanted to teach him. I knew the church I was attending did not teach
the whole Biblical truth of the path to eternal life and had many unbiblical practices.
I decided that the day of his Christening would be the last day in that church for me.
I then started searching for a biblically based church for me to grow in.
I found my home church two weeks later in the town where I grew up.
I spent the next 2 years growing in discipleship. On August 11th, 2002 I was baptised at my home church.
I publicly acknowledged four things.
1. God loves me and has a plan for my life.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Jesus said, "I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly" (that it might be full and meaningful)
(John 10:10)
2. Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, we cannot know and experience God's love and plan for our life.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
(Romans 3:23)
"For the [result] of sin is death" -- spiritual separation from God.
(Romans 6:23)
3. Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for Man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
"Christ died for our sins... He was buried... He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures... He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred..." (I Corinthians 15:3-6)
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.'" (John 14:6)
4. We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name"
(John 1:12)
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
"I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Do not be surprised when I say you must be born again. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." (see John 3:1-8)
Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him." (Revelation 3:20)

After I committed my life to Jesus Christ I was freed from mild depression which lasted most of my life.
I have experienced a steady growth of joy in my life. I have developed friendships with people who want me to grow.
God has helped me be more outgoing and sociable. He has cleansed sinful habits from my life.
His love for me has given me love for others. I have learned that God has created me to fulfill His purpose in my generation.

Been Thinking About Contentment For most of my life, I have thanked the Lord for a
great sense of contentment that I have. This article shows the importance to have a
contentment for your situation, but as the serenity prayer says, we need to have the
courage to change the things that need to be changed.
A quote from the bible on contentment (sortof)Why Would A Good God Allow Suffering?
God allows pain and suffering in our world to alert us to the problem of sin, to direct us to respond to Him in faith and hope, to shape us to be more like Christ, and to unite us so that we will help each other.
For a more in-depth look visit Why Would A Good God Allow Suffering?Who was Jesus? If you don't accept Him as the true Savior you
must conclude that He was a phony, a madman, or that His disciples
started the greatest hoax on earth.
PHONY? Could He have been merely trying to gain a following? If
He was, He certainly wasn't very successful--if you gauge success by
power or financial gain. He turned many away by His high standards and
His unwillingness to overlook hypocrisy and halfheartedness. And He
certainly wasn't tricking people to get their money. The evidence does
not support the possibility that He was a charlatan.
MADMAN? Self-deceived? Sincere but deluded about His own
identity? His words and actions do not reflect the behavior of a
person who is mentally unstable. Such a charge against Him does not
explain the miracles, the brilliance of His teaching, nor His
resurrection.
HOAX? Could the disciples have been guilty of painting a picture
of Jesus that was far bigger than life? It doesn't make sense that all
the disciples would conspire to create a monstrous lie that would
contradict what they knew to be true. Would you die for what you knew
was a lie? The disciples wouldn't have either, yet most of them died
as martyrs.
TRUTH? We have good reason to believe that the Bible presents an
accurate picture of Jesus Christ. His fulfillment of prophecy, His
impact on history, His life and teachings, and the response of His
disciples all point to a conclusion that He was and is all that He
claimed to be -- the Son of God.
Have you personally put your trust in Him as the One who died for
you and who offers to you forgiveness of sin? Jesus said, "I am the
way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through Me"(John 14:6)

The Man on the CrossPASCAL'S WAGER
The following chart is based on Pascal's evidence for following Christ.
If you have a better way of saying it I would appreciate it if you would let me know.
God Exists and Jesus Christ is His Son
God does not exist
You follow God
You get a joyous, peaceful life, You get Heaven, You lose sinful pleasures
You get a joyous, peaceful life, You die permanently, You lose sinful pleasures
You Don't follow God
You get Hell and sinful pleasures as well as their consequences, You lose Heaven
You get sinful pleasures as well as their consequences, You die permanently
In other words, there is more to lose if you don't follow Christ than there is to gain.
And there is more to gain by following Christ than there is to lose.

In response to the belief that:
"I think all religions are pretty much alike. You just do the best you
can, and if there is a God, well, He'll respect your sincerity."
The following argument may be made:
"I think there is one thing that clearly separates Christianity from other religions.
Every other religion is an attempt to please God. It's all about trying to make ourselves
look good or doing things to impress God. But we can never do that.
True Christianity is all about Christ. It's why Christ came to die.
We can't come to God without Christ and the sacrifice He made for our sins."
"Jesus said that no one comes to the Father except through Him. Christ is what makes Christianity different from other religions."

An article from Our Daily Bread on Two Ways To God?MY PHILOSOPHY ON CREATION I believe that there are a lot of people who have destructive views
on how the universe was created. Most people think that there are only
two sides to how it occurred. Evolution or Biblical Creation. In
Biblical creation
the universe was CREATED by GOD in a very complex design. The theory of evolution claims that all life came about
through a random process of genetic mutation and natural selection without a creator managing the process. I believe God
created the Universe including man in 6 24-hour periods.
More information is available at Answers in Genesis
Another theory which is possible is that there is another choice, Biblical Creation through genetic mutation and natural selection, aka theistic evolution. Based on a verse found later in the Bible.
For the Lord, a day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day.
This theory has some support by both science and the Bible.
1. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth
(Genesis 1:1)
-- Big Bang
2. God created Light
(Genesis 1:3)
-- The beginning of stars
3. God said let there be a dome in the middle of the waters, to separate one body of water from the other.
(Genesis 1:6)
-- As the earth cooled the oceans formed as well as the clouds.
4. Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth vegetation..."
(Genesis 1:11)
-- Plants were the first form of life on earth
5. God made the two great lights, the greater one to govern the day, and the lesser one to govern the night;
(Genesis 1:16)
-- The sun and moon were created around the same time as the earth
6. Then God said, "Let the water teem with an abundance of living creatures..."
(Genesis 1:20)
-- Animal life most likely began in the ocean after plants had made enough oxygen.
7. Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth all kinds of living creatures..."
(Genesis 1:24)
-- Life migrated to dry land.
8. Then God said: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..."
(Genesis 1:26)
-- Homo Sapien is the youngest species of the very complex animals.
There is another theory I found interesting called inteligent design. It simply claims:
"that intelligent causes are necessary to explain the complex, information-rich structures of biology and that these causes are empirically detectable."
[William A. Dembski, Intelligent Design (Downers Grove, Ill: InterVarsity, 1999), p. 106. ]

As evidence is still being examined, I am will remain open to other theories as to the process of creation until I see sufficient evidence. Please let me know your thoughts on this highly debated issue.
